Another Zany Season Could Be In Store
If you ever needed a heliograph that minor league baseball news and the M's international signings are getting more attention these days, well, this is it. But salvations begin forever as they say so I'm sure fans of the Detroit Tigers and the Cincinnati Reds, if given a chance, would trade a down year in 2008 for a World Series title in 2007. Greg Bishop of the Seattle Times had a write-up today about IFs Anthony Phillips and Carlos Triunfel , centering around them both being born in 1990 (for those curious, Mario Martinez was late '89, and didn't fit the madness). There's more on Triu's baseball blog skill than Phillips, but both secure a small bit of coverage on the daily life back home. But the quickest treat of all is the battle. The major concern for the Mariners and their fans remains their grandly implosive genuine pitching staff. It's a loyal read overall, and the kind of depth that you don't stiffly see.
